The Tick Ridge Electric Stick is just like any other dulcimer. Except that it’s missing a body!

The function of the body on any stringed instrument is to amplify the sound of the vibrating strings. But in the electronic age, the sound from the strings can be amplified electronically, just like an electric guitar.  So who needs a body?

You can use your Electric Stick with any standard amplifier, or even plug it into your home stereo. Or you can purchase the Honeytone mini amplifier by Danelectro for use with your Electric Stick.

The Honeytone amp runs on a single 9v battery, or can be powered by the optional AC adapter. It also has a belt clip.

The Electric Stick is also ideal for those situations where you want to keep the volume as low as possible – small apartments, those late night practice sessions where everyone else is asleep, or while practicing that new song that isn’t quite ready for public ears. With headphones attached to your amplifier, you can play in near silence while only you can hear what you are playing.
